Mandira Bedi is an Indian actress, fashion designer, and television presenter. She was born on 15 April 1972 in Calcutta. She did her schooling at Cathedral and John Connon School, Bombay and graduated from the St. Xavier’s College, Bombay. Later, she did her post graduation from Sophia Polytechnic College, Bombay.
Mandira Bedi gained recognition by playing the titular role in the 1994 television show, Shanti, which was telecast on India’s national channel, Doordarshan. In 2019, she played a negative role in the movie Saaho. She also appeared in many Hindi TV serials like Aurat, Dushman and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
Mandira Bedi began hosting ICC Cricket World Cups in 2003 and 2007, Champions Trophies in 2004 and 2006 and Indian Premier League for Sony Max. On 26 October 2013, She launched her signature sari store.
Mandira Bedi is also the Author of The English-language book ” Happy for No Reason ” , in which she has penned down her experiences in parenting, keeping fit and striking a work-life balance.
Mandira Bedi is passionate about live cricket and was thrilled when Sony Television offered her to compère ‘Extra Innings’. Her appearance in a wide array of designer Sarees glamorized the drab male-dominated cricket world which eventually led to a rise in viewer-ship.
